Terms and General Conditions

USEFUL INFO

The following Terms and Conditions are an integration of that provided in the  Rental Agreement signed by the client. The Rental Agreement conditions are fully refered. 

 

All prices are in Euro. The amounts indicated in this page must be increased of IVA 21% with the exception of the amounts defined as "penalty".

Terms and General Conditions agreed with Fidelity Client could be different from the Terms and general Conditions published.

Age restriction and documents required: 21 years, driving licence valid from at least one year and another valid identity document (Identity card and/or passport).


Fleet Distribution: The rental of special vehicles (T,S,Z,W,P) is subjected  to confirmation of real availability. 


Conditions of Payment: Customer will be required to leave a deposit by credit card. The deposit is equal to the value of the rental plus the max amount due in case of damages according to the group rented (Euro 900/1500/2500).  This amount can be reduced by signing  Pack 2 Super Cover Service. Sixt accepts all international credit cards which must be in the driver’s name. Two credit cards are requested to rent special vehicles (T,Z,W,S,P); cash, Bancomat, Debit Card, Visa Electron or prepaid credit card are not accepted.    


Territorial Restrictions: As indicated on the "Rental Agreement" the driver can be authorized to drive can travel in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland. It's allowed to travel in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary with the exception of groups  H-IDMR; L-SDMR; T-IVAR; Z-FDAR; W-FWMR; S-PFAR and P-FVMR. It's forbidden cross borders for Countries not listed.

 

Delivery and collection of the vehicle: One day of rental is made up of 24 hours. The rental starts from the day and time the vehicle is delivered to the Customer and will end on the day and time the vehicle is returned to Sixt Italy. The vehicle is delivered in perfect conditions and must be returned to Sixt Italy in the same conditions as it was delivered, except  for the ordinary wear and tear.


Extension: It’s necessary an authorization by Sixt to extend the rental. The Customer must contact Sixt at least 24 hours before the agreed data of drop off. In case of extension without authorization the extra days will be invoiced at the highest daily Standard rate printed in our list in force.

Car group reserved: If an higher car group is temporarily delivered because of unavailability of car group reserved, 7 days of tolerance are permitted to change the vehicle. After the deadline, at the end of the rental, it will be invoiced the actual car group rented and not the one reserved.


Time Tolerance: The Client has to communicate, to Sixt location, the possible delay for the vehicle pick up, in spite of this it will be applied a time tolerance of 1 hour according to the time expected in the reservation; exceeded this tolerance the reservation will be considered declined without notice.  It's allowed a time tolerance of 59 minutes after  which one rental day is charged in addition.


Third Parties Liability R.C.A. Sixt Italy vehicles insurance includes Third Parties Liability  (R.C.A.) as provided by the actual law in the Country where the car has been registered.

BASIC SERVICES

BASIC SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE RATE**
Sixt rates are made up of basic services namely those services coming from the use of the vehicle (Time/Km) and of the responsibility for damages and theft of the rented vehicle (CDR and TP service).

DAMAGES FOR COLLISION - CDR Service*:
CDR Service is included in all Sixt Italy rates and by convention it’s equal to 22% of the applied rates. This service is not an insurance coverage but a conventional reduction of Customer’s responsibility concerning damages resulting from traffic collisions. The responsibility reduction happens between a minimum chargeable amount for each event of Euro 250,00 (as penalty) and a max chargeable amount as penalty for each event which depends on the car group rented:

*CDR service doesn’t include damages caused by vandalism and that caused to windows, windscreens, underbody, wheels and inside.                

 

THEFT AND FIRE - TP Service:            

TP Service is included in all Sixt Italy rates, conventionally equal to 18% of the applied rates. This service is not an insurance coverage but a conventional reduction of Customer’s responsibility in case of total and/or partial theft or fire. With TP Service the max amount due by the Customer to Sixt depends on the car group rented as penalty:

In case of total or partial theft of the rented vehicle happened in Campania, in Puglia, in Catania town and province the Customer will be economically responsible in the limits of the following greater amounts as penalty:

OPTIONAL SERVICE

OPTIONAL SERVICES NOT INCLUDED IN THE RATE: Customer can eliminate the damage or theft economic responsibility signing the optional service Pack 2 SUPER COVER SERVICE.
 

SUPER COVER SERVICE**: It’s not an insurance coverage. If requested and signed at the moment of pick up it eliminates the max amount due by the client for damages or theft and fire. Pack 2 SUPER COVER Service covers also damage due to vandalism and to windows/windscreens, roof, body, wheels and tyres and inside. Pack 2 Super Cover Service has the following daily costs:

IN CASE OF THEFT IN CAMPANIA, IN PUGLIA, IN CATANIA TOWN AND PROVINCE : Pack 2 SUPER COVER service hasn’t complete pertinence in case of partial/total theft or fire happened in Campania, in Puglia, in Catania town and province. In these cases the Customer will not make of elimination but he will be economically responsible according to the following amounts as penalty:

IMPORTANT NOTE 

**The services CDR, TP and SUPER COVER SERVICE are not valid if the driver's behaviour is in contrast with the article 1176 of Civil Code. In any case the driver cannot make use of any restriction of responsibility in case of negligence, fraudulency or gross negligence according to 1229 of Civil Code.  In all these cases, the Customer is fully responsible for the full cost of the vehicle with previous exchange of documentation about the event.

SUPPLEMENTARY SERVICES

AIRPORT SURCHARGEor RAILWAY SURCHARGE: 16% of rate for rentals starting in airport and railway locations.

ROAD TAX:Euro 2 per each day of rental

MANAGEMENT FEE:Euro 3 per rental

SPECIAL EVENTS

SIXT ASSISTANCE

In case of breakdown the Customer will contact Sixt Italy Assistance. Vehicle replacement depends on vehicle availabilty and office opening hours. Afterward, Customer will reach the nearest Sixt location on his own. Expenses (trip, hotel, etc)  born to reach Sixt location or to continue his trip without Sixt vehicle will be refundable for a maximum amount of  Euro 200,00, provided all expenses receipts are available. For any other kind of inconvenience, the refund and/or compensation will not ever exceed the total rental value. Sixt Italy reserves its right not to provide a replacement vehicle without having to justify such refusal.

USE OF THE VEHICLE

For the driver’s safety and the right maintenance of the vehicle, the Customer must respect the max amount of mileage established by the different rate profiles chosen by the client. In case of exceeding mileage, Sixt reserves the right to charge higher amount as provided for the Rental Agreement Conditions at the back of the Rental Agreement.

ACCIDENT AND DAMAGE

In the event of any accident or damage to the vehicle, Customer must inform Sixt Italy writing a report within 24 hours from it or at the moment of drop off, using the specific form (CID) that is in the car document folder or fulfilling the "Accident Form". In addition, the Customer shall have all necessary investigations performed by the competent authorities. The failed observance of this duty causes deep economic damage to Sixt Italy, for this reason the driver will be charged as a penalty for a minimum of Euro 500,00 (amount not subject to VAT) and a maximum of Euro 2000,00 (amount not subject to VAT).
 

 

FINE

Any fine imposed during the rental period is at Customer’s expense. Sixt will communicate to the Institutions the name of the driver (Renotification) as expected by time limits of italian law  or they will be debited and sent to the Customer within prescription time limits. Charge fee for each renotification Euro 30,00 will be charged on the credit card shown as deposit at the moment of pick up.

ACCIDENT MANAGEMENT EXPENSES: Euro 50,00

 

KEY LOSS: Euro 250,00

ACCESSORIES

REFUELLING SERVICE:

The Customer has to return the car, at the end of the rental, with full tank and to note it on the check-in document with a Sixt employee. If the vehicle is not refuelled, the Client will be charged of Service for fuel restoration made up by a fixed amount and a flat-rate amount.

The fixed amount of Euro 16,00 will be charged to the Client in addition of a flat-rate amount applied by Sixt for the fuel missing litres calculated at an increased price in comparison with market price.

The fuel price will be the one printed at the moment of drop off with reference to the last updating available, that is:

Benzina: Euro 2,04 per litre        
Diesel: Euro 1,98 per litre

 

Due to particular agreement, in case of fixed amount for refuelling service is not expected, it will be charged anyways a flat-rate amount for fuel missing litres calculated at an increased price in comparison with market price, that is:


Benzina: Euro 2,82 per litre        
Diesel: Euro 2,74 per litre

The Refuelling Service amounts are updated periodically.    

    
DELIVERY AND COLLECTION: When the vehicle is delivered or collected in a place different from a Sixt location:

  • Within city limits: Euro 20,00
  • Out of city limits: Euro 1,50 per Km with a min of 30 Km.

 

ONE WAY: When the vehicle is returned to a place different from that it was initially rented.

With Sixt authorization

  • Italy: Euro 45,00
  • Abroad: Service at a given rate.

The vehicle can be delivered abroad only with an authorization by Sixt HQ at the moment of reservatioin. This service is subject to a specific pricelist with a minimum amount of 850,00€ up to a maximum amount of 2000,00€.

In case of drop off, without authorization, in a Sixt location  different from that of reservation, an extra charge of € 180,00 (amount not subject to VAT) will be applied.

 


OUT OF HOUR: It’s allowed to pick up the car out of the opening hours in most of the airport locations upon agreement with the location for an extra charge of Euro 30,00 per rental.

 

ADDITIONAL DRIVER: Euro 4,00 per day.

 

BABY SEAT: Euro 30,00 per rental.

 

SNOW CHAINS: Euro 30,00 per rental.    

 

SKI RACKS: Euro 30,00 per rental.

 

NAVIGATION SYSTEM GPS: Euro 10,00 per day max 5 days per rental/month. Navigation system must be returned to the pick up location otherwise the Customer will be charged of Euro 50,00. In case of  loss, damaging  or theft the amount chargeable is of Euro 200,00 even if  the Pack 2 Super Cover service has been subscripted. It's not possible to book Navigation System, it's possible to rent it at the desk according to availability.
